Jeff Paroddy
Independent French-American essayist. Two cultures. One mind.
Jeff Paroddy is an independent French-American essayist. He writes essays on liberty, sovereignty and progress, in American English, and reads France and the United States side by side when the subject calls for it, not as a reflex.
He is a classical liberal: individual liberty, property, responsibility, merit, work, initiative and equal opportunity. He defends open capitalism, production and the people who build, and argues against rents, cronyism, invasive bureaucracy and crony capitalism. He wants a state that meddles less and works better where it must: justice, security and defense. Productive sovereignty, abundant energy, science and innovation sit at the center of his work.
He belongs to no party. Independence does not dissolve convictions: no leader, party or entrepreneur owns his judgment. Curious, a builder by temperament and a teacher by habit, he is optimistic about what progress makes possible and demanding about its results.
Three pillars
Liberty: Individual liberty, property, work and merit, against rents, cronyism and the bureaucracy that grows because nobody is paid to stop it. (39 essays)
Sovereignty: Who holds the switch: energy, industry, supply chains, borders run by clear rules, and the dependencies a nation chooses or suffers. (18 essays)
Progress: Science, energy, technology and the ideas that move them: optimism about what is possible, rigor about what is proven. (28 essays)
A secondary section, Health & Longevity, keeps the notes on medicine and aging. Every essay is in the archive.
